Scientific Name: Poecilia reticulata (Albino Full Red variety) Common Names: Albino Full Red Guppy, AFR Guppy, RREA (Real Red Eye Albino) Full Red Origin: Selectively bred in captivity (does not exist in nature).
Physical Characteristics This fish is defined by two specific genetic traits: the “Full Red” color and the “Albino” gene.

The Albino Trait: The most obvious sign is the pink or red eyes. Because they lack melanin (black pigment), they cannot produce black colors. This makes their red coloration look cleaner and brighter, almost like it is glowing.

Male Appearance: Males are smaller but spectacularly colored. They are usually a solid, deep saturation of red that covers the face, body, and their large, flowing delta tail.

Female Appearance: Females are larger and rounder. Unlike the solid red males, females usually have a pale yellow or creamy-white body (flesh color) but possess vivid red tails and dorsal fins.

Size: Males reach about 1.5 inches (3.5 cm), while females grow to 2 to 2.5 inches.
Behavior and Temperament

Vision: Because they are albinos with red eyes, their eyesight is slightly poorer than standard guppies. They may be slower to react to movement or find food.

Peaceful: They are very gentle and social. They should be kept with other peaceful, small fish (like Tetras or Rasboras) that won’t bully them.

Livebearers: Like all guppies, they breed frequently. The fry (babies) are born alive. In this strain, the babies are born appearing almost transparent or pinkish.

Tank Size: A minimum of 10 gallons is recommended.

Water Conditions: They are slightly more sensitive than common “mutt” guppies. They require clean, stable water with a pH between 7.0 and 8.0.

Lighting: Their colors look incredible under full-spectrum aquarium lights, which make the red “pop.”

Diet: To maintain that deep red color, feed them foods rich in carotenoids, such as spirulina, brine shrimp, and high-quality color-enhancing flakes.
